Highly motivated and goal-oriented, Rev. Dr. Lavelda Davis’ accomplished career in providing tax services has been supported by a strong background in accounting, which has helped her to develop the necessary problem-solving skills for any situation. Since 2007, she has served as president of Davida Enterprises, Inc., where she works in tax preparation and resolution for hundreds of cases. She prioritizes her relationships with her clients and offers a free consultation to those facing IRS or state tax issues. Additional contributions in her industry include the creation of One Word Workshop Series and Counseling for Clerics, and writing “The Biggest Mistake Tax Payers Make – Avoid Paying Back Taxes,” “Possible Tax Resolution Strategies to Ease Your Mind If You Owe Money to the IRS,” and “How to Avoid 4 Tax Resolution Company Rip-Offs!” Rev. Dr. Davis said she entered into the tax business because she knew it was a service people needed and needed help with.
Rev. Dr. Davis has previously been active as the director of accounting at Tax Defender from 2021 to 2022, an enrolled agent at Madison Tax Group from 2020 to 2021, both an assistant project manager and an interim controller at Alliance Mechanical Group, Inc. between 2017 and 2020, and an administrative assistant and office manager at CN Plumbing, Inc. from 2012 to 2017. She has also excelled as a tax preparer at H&R Block from 2011 to 2015, a human resources assistant for accounts payable at GreenPoint Financial from 1998 to 2005, and a benefits administrator at GreenPoint Savings Bank.
But outside of her primary professional endeavors, Rev. Dr. Davis has been equally driven by her humanitarian focus. A member of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, World Wildlife Fund, Humane Society International, and Habitat for Humanity International, she has also been a proud child sponsor for Save the Children since 2021. She also serves as an ordained interfaith minister at All Faiths Seminary International. Growing up, she endured her fair share of challenges—which she later attributes her success to. While in high school, she was excited about choosing her college and carving out her career path, but upon seeking advice from her guidance counselor, she was told not to consider college but domestic roles instead. Although this crushed her, it didn’t dissuade her; in fact, she used it as motivation to pursue college with more vigor. Following some coursework at the State University of New York at Oswego, she attended and graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and government in 1980. She later attained a Doctor of Divinity from Commonwealth Open University.
Rev. Dr. Davis lives her life by the motto, “Be blessed, be well, be loved.”
